This introductory course in Christian ministry addresses such topics as developing a theology and spirituality of ministry and the essential pastoral task of cure (care) of souls from a missional perspective. Its focus will be broader than just the official and ordained ministry within the church. It will examine the personhood, the relationships, and the moral conduct of those in ministry; as well as the functions, tasks, critical issues and challenges one encounters in ministry. This intensive course comprises eight sessions in January.

Instructor: Dr. Robert Shaughnessy (Bob), from Canada, has served as a pastor in different ministry contexts. He then served as a professor at Tyndale University, in Toronto, and now continues to teach internationally.

Revelation

Thursday, 8.40am to 10.40am
(Jan 8, 15, 22, 29; Feb 5, 12, 19, 26)

The Book of Revelation is a significant part of Christian scripture. Although it is frequently viewed as a manual for interpreting current events, its main purpose is to convey timeless truths, promises, and warnings from God, calling believers to steadfast faith amid life's challenges. In this class, we will learn to interpret Revelation by exploring its literary genres, rich symbolism, historical context, key messages, and its significance for believers today as we prepare for Christ’s return.

Instructor: Dr. Martus Maleachi joined DTC as a full-time lecturer in July 2025. He previously served as an associate pastor at Grace Indonesian Christian Church, Bandung (1992–1995), a faculty member at Southeast Asia Bible Seminary (Malang, 1995–2020), and president of the seminary from 2015 to 2020. He then worked in the marketplace while preparing to become a missionary with SIM. Martus and his wife Suriati served as missionaries in Kenya from 2022 to 2025, where they taught at the International Leadership University in Nairobi and Moffat Bible College in Kijabe.
